Position Overview
Our client, a major BC Organization, is seeking a Data Warehouse Architect, to work on strategically designing and implementing data warehouses, data marts, and data stores, while ensuring high levels of data availability. The successful candidate will develop and maintain the organization's data models for data warehouse systems. In addition, this position will play a key role in database design and development; and the overall evolution of the data warehouse to support data mining for internal and external customer's business needs.

Duties and Responsibilities

Designing and maintaining data warehouse architecture and dimensional models

Translating business requirements into technical data warehouse requirements

Assessing and maintaining data quality, assuring and maintaining data warehouse
Database modeling and storage (specifically MS SQL/Server)
Reporting and analysis delivery tools and applications (Business Objects)

Skills and Experience
5-10 years of experience with a focus on data warehouse and business intelligence solution implementation
5+ years working with ETL tools (specifically DataStage)
Experience with large production data warehouses
Ability to develop a technical vision for the data warehouse to align with client's needs, based on industry standard practices and architectures for implementation of data warehousing and business intelligence solutions
Ability to work effectively with business managers and analysts to determine how business needs can be addressed with technical solutions
Strong communication skills.
Excellent data analysis skills.
