Applications Developer I - Software Systems Engineer
Contract Length 6 Months

Seeking experienced, motivated, high performing IBM Datastage Developer

. Experienced in working in tight schedules meeting deadlines.
. Strong background in working with the client to define business processes and develop high-level functional Requirements.
. Excellent work ethics, self-motivated, quick learner and team oriented.
. Continually provides value-added services to the clients through thoughtful experience, productive coding habits, and excellent logical aptitude and Communication skills.

Data Stage Skills:
ETL process creation using Ascential Datastage Version 7.5 or higher (both Server and Parallel extender)
Development of custom SQL scripts and stored procedures (where required) to augment the ETL process
Design, develop and implement transformation processes using Data Stage that will load/extract data into/from databases from/to various sources/destinations.
Working knowledge of XML file stage is a plus.
Must be able to trouble shoot and fix the common Data Stage errors
Performance tuning of ETL processes, as required.

UNIX Skills:
Comfortable with shell scripting to support ETL process
Good knowledge of Vi editor

Data Base Skills:
Able to work with pl/sql procedures
Some database design including entity definitions, detailed attribute definitions, keys, relationships and business rules

General:
Develop of the ETL design document and transformation rules
Work closely with the business systems analyst to develop the source to target data mappings
Conduct user interviews to validate the transformation rules.
Evaluate the data quality and provide written feedback to the client
Data and System Interface Analysis and documentation
Data Conversion Planning and Implementation
Provide Support to Project Team
Prepare and execute test cases for unit testing
